Socks and Peaches

I am sitting here eating peaches (which I now realize is funny) doing everything in my power not to knit the sock that I started.  I have never tried to knit a sock before and I think this one is against me.  It is secretly plotting the best way to drive me completely insane.  A dropped stitch here, purling when I should be knitting, it hates me.  Really hates me.  I keep making stupid beginner mistakes.  I am thinking about trying a toe up sock instead and see if I have better luck…there is definitely only going to be one sock.  Just don’t tell the sock, I might end up having an “accident”.

Purling

I have a theory.  For some reason purling sometimes seems the bane of a Knitters existence.  I have found very few knitters that really love to purl.  They usually feel that this stitch slows them down.  It does use a bit more yarn per stitch and who wants to use up your stash on the purl stitch?  I think I know a way of curing the pessimistic purler.  Now, this will only work on a brand new knitter who has never picked a pair of needles.  I think Knitters should teach the purl stitch first.  Why not?  It creates the the same fabric as knitting every row.  A new knitter won’t know any better and they will spend their new knitting time perfecting the purl stitch first.  They will get more practice at it and will have it down.  I think this will work.  Now I need an unsuspecting victim…
